About Me

I am a qualified Counsellor and Supervisor, and an Accredited and Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). This means you can be confident that I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Autism, ADHD and Neurodivergence

My interest in working therapeutically with autistic people stems from my own lived experience. Throughout my counselling career, this has been complemented by extensive training with the National Autistic Society, BACP, and other professional training providers. This ongoing learning has deepened my understanding of the relationship between autism and mental health, enabling me to learn from a wide range of perspectives and experiences.

I am also passionate about supporting clients with ADHD, particularly those who have received a diagnosis later in life. Many people seek counselling as they adjust to a new understanding of themselves and make sense of experiences that may previously have felt confusing or overwhelming.

Whilst the majority of my experience lies with Autism and ADHD, I also have a good understanding of other neurodivergences including but not limited to dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome and dyslexia.

My aim is for us to work together to identify any adjustments that may help you engage more comfortably in the counselling process. I hope we can co-create an environment that is centred on your individual needs and enables you to participate in a way that feels safe, comfortable, and accessible.

Inclusivity and Values

I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, affirming, and accessible. My practice is informed by anti-racist, anti-ableist, and trauma-informed principles, recognising the impact that social, cultural, and systemic factors can have on our mental health and lived experience. I strive to offer a respectful, collaborative environment where all aspects of your identity and experience are welcomed.

GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity)

I am committed to providing an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment that welcomes all aspects of gender, sexual, and relationship diversity. I work from an affirmative perspective and welcome clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures.I am Polyamory Aware and Kink Aware, and I welcome queer and trans clients. I have undertaken specialist training in these areas and remain committed to ongoing education and professional development.

Humanistic Integrative Counselling

I work within a humanistic integrative framework, drawing on a range of counselling approaches, including person-centred, existential, and Gestalt theories, to meet your individual needs.I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important elements of successful therapy. For this reason, I offer a free initial telephone consultation, giving you the opportunity to decide whether working together feels right for you. I also regularly review our working relationship throughout the counselling process to ensure that therapy continues to meet your needs.
