Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: FAQ

Do you offer a free introductory appointment?

I offer an introductory telephone appointment of up to 20 minutes - this is free of charge.

This call allows you the time and space to ask any questions you may have and consider whether I could be the right counsellor for you, as well as providing the opportunity for me to learn from from you about your support needs.

How much do appointments cost?

£50 payable by BACS transfer

Clinical Supervision Appointment:

1 hour appointment - £55 -  payable by BACS transfer

1.5 hour appointment - £70 - payable by BACS transfer

How often would I have counselling appointments, and how long do they last?

Counselling Appointments last for 50 minutes and are usually weekly - this helps to ensure continuity.  Following your assessment appointment, we usually agree a frequency and book a set of appointments so that your preferred time and day is kept free for you. However, this is flexible and we can discuss alternative options to best suit your needs and budget.

How often would I have supervision appointments, and how long do they last?

The BACP “Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions” suggests that individual supervision takes place for a minimum of 1.5 hours per calendar month, therefore we will agree to work to this guidance unless there are circumstances which dictate a different way of ensuring your supervision needs are met (e.g., to meet twice a month for one hour each time). Our appointments will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time, usually at the same time and day each month to ensure consistency.

Which professional body are you a member of?

I am an Accredited Member of the BACP. As an Accredited Member of the BACP I am required to keep to an industry standard of on-going training and development, as well as attending clinical supervision on a regular basis to ensure I provide all my clients with an ethical and safe professional service. More information about the BACP can be found on their website www.bacp.co.uk

Where are you based and where do sessions take place?

I am based in Leeds. For counselling appointments I am currently working solely online, via video and telephone appointments. Video appointments take place using Zoom, and you will be provided with a unique link and password for each appointment.

Clinical Supervision appointments are available online or in person at a professional venue near to the centre of Leeds.
